Diet Against Osteoporosis

Full of calcium and potassium, sesame and banana are  natural weapons in the fight with the loss of bone mass

In order to avoid and forestall osteoporosis, it is important  to take care about eating habits from an early age. In adolescence it is of great importance to be physically active, as this encourages the growth and development of bones. We therefore present groceries that  have the  most necessary ingredients for healthy and strong bones.
Broccoli 
When shopping you should only choose broccoli that has green color, with a firm and compact flowers. Yellow heads show that the fruit is overripe, and it has less beneficial ingredients, and does not taste good. A well selected fresh fruit should be stored in an open plastic bag, in the refrigerator, no longer than a week. Washe it just before preparation. In the freezer, cleaned and frozen, can be preserved up to a year. Broccoli (Brassica oleracea) belongs to the family of green vegetables, which ensures enough protein and minerals, especially calcium. It is best to consume in its raw state as a salad, and then fried in a little oil or steamed, considering that the thermal treatment of losing important ingredients. Plenty of minerals, calcium, magnesium, potassium and iron, makes it to the top of the chart of foods for healthy bones, and health in general.

During preparation, broccoli should be cooked in  salted boiling water for five to six minutes. In this way it preserves the most of beneficial ingredients, as well as crispness and taste.

Thus cooked can be served in several ways:

* Sprinkled with sesame seeds and lemon juice.


* As a simple delicious soup with cauliflower, spiced as desired.

* In the form of an omelet with cooked flowers and chopped stems.

* With pasta and chopped peanuts, olive oil and broccoli flowers.


Sesame (Sesamum indicum) is one of the most useful supplements in fight against osteoporosis, while sesame oil is considered extremely high quality, and is often used as a substitution for olive oil. Calcium, manganese, copper, magnesium and selenium are present is an extremely large quantities. For those who do not have enough calcium in the body, sesame is the right choice. Soak a teaspoon of the seeds in 0.5 dl of yoghurt and leave to stand overnight. In the morning, everything should be eaten on an empty stomach, and the repeat  process daily.

Banana  is not only fruit of pleasure, but also can effectively  replace a complete meal and be a supplement for meal. Effective against osteoporosis because it is rich in minerals; potassium, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, and folic acid. The banana also contains vitamins are responsible for maintaining bone density.

It is interesting that the scientists insist on eating mature bananas, because in immature stage of development they have a protein, which according to research, suppresses functioning of certain enzymes important for metabolic processes in the body, and thus affect the health and quality of bone. The big advantage is given to dehydrated bananas which improve metabolism, and all useful ingredients contained in them are in more concentrated form, and are more effective.

Suggestion

ANCIENT GREEK MEDICINE

To remedy against osteoporosis, which ancient Greeks were making, is 10 tablespoons of ground flaxseed, five tablespoons of ground sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, grains of wheat, sunflower seeds, three tablespoons of raisins and a kilogram of honey.

All the above ingredients mix well with a wooden spoon or spatula, and then pour the mixture into the jar. Take one tablespoon before breakfast and lunch.
