Wild Rice - Benefits

Wild rice does not  contain gluten, so it is a good choice for those on a gluten free diet. It contains almost twice as much protein tahn brown rice.
Because of it's low amounts of sugar, those who are suffering from high blood sugar (diabetics) can consume it, but of course, moderate. As for antioxidants, it contains almost 30 times more than the white rice. Since it is rich in fibers, it is useful for regulation of digestion and is good for lowering blood cholesterol. It is an excellent source of essential minerals such as phosphorus, zinc, and folate (vitamin B9 ), which provide energy and contribute to bone health. It also contains vitamin A, C and E, important for general health and immunity. What is interesting, one portion of wild rice contains fewer calories than all the other types of rice, therefore it is excellent for various diets.
